Abstract

A vector method of representing individual types of enzymic reactions in K’mV’ coordinates is described. Equations for enzyme activation (and nontrivial inhibition) constants are deduced using the method. The inhibiting effect of Na2WO4 on the initial rates of p-nitrophenyl phosphate decomposition by calf intestinal alkaline phosphatase was studied, and the constant of enzyme inhibition by this compound was determined. Other uses of the method are discussed.
