Abstract
Computer technology is coming to school. Desktop calculators are being put to work in the senior grades [the final two grades of the Soviet secondary school—Ed.]. But what about in the junior [lower secondary school] grades? Will the use of electronic gadgetry in elementary school prove useful or harmful? Won't children forget how to do number work?
