Abstract

A three-stage model is presented to describe all the steps of the mixing process. A new approach to the evaluation of the turbulent mixing time is proposed, introducing the distribution function of the mass over wave—numbers. The next stages are described by a Diffusion—Reaction model. The predictions of the model are in good agreement with experimental data from the literature for istantaneous reactions in tubular reactors with unpremixed feeds.
