Abstract

The nuclear structure of the doubly-evenN=84 nuclei has been explained in terms of the two-particle core coupling model. The positive parity states are studied in a diagonalization treatment, while the negative parity states are treated in a perturbation approach. Theoretical spectroscopic factors for a143Nd(d, p) reaction are compared with experimental data. Electromagnetic properties are calculated and some of them (electric quadrupole moment, reducedE3 transition probability) are analysed by means of perturbation theory.
