Abstract
Currently, the software quality is considered the main competitive feature among the organizations. Thus, it is much important to plan the testing activities in careful way. The testing shows the defects existence and their quantitative analysis is relevant because it can reveal the product and process quality. Then, the defects measurement is the fundamental step to control and improve the software testing activities. When the software testing and measurement process work together, many questions emerge about relevant, well structured and good quality testing and measurement. This work proposes a measurement process that collects defects from software testing phase. This process based on technique named Practical Software Measurement (PSM), of USA Department of Defense, generates results which address information needs of responsible of testing phase. To illustrate this process, two case studies are presented.
