Abstract

This work introduces a methodology to teach Mechatronics, Robotics and Automatic Control through a lowcost handson educational experimental platform based on a radio control (RC) servo. The hardware needed to build the platform is described as well as the teaching methodology. Performance of the platform is assessed by means of realtime experiments using an Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC) law based on a Disturbance Observer (DOB). These experiments prove the platform potential for supporting undergraduate and graduate level courses.
