Abstract

Developing countries require organizations engaged in making Appropriate technologies which address the development of rural community. The Rural Technology Action Group (RuTAG) located inside Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is one of the pioneer organizations which synergies the collaborative efforts of government, academia and Non-Government Organizations(NGOs) for research, development and dissemination of appropriate technologies in India. It is essential to understand the organizational aspects of RuTAG for better technology management. The novelty of this study lies in exploring the organizational aspects of RuTAG for technology development and management using a systems theory approach. Data presented in this study is based on primary and secondary sources. The different organizational elements of RuTAG has been demonstrated and explained for deeper understanding. The findings from the study analyses technology development from an organizational perspective with theoretical and practical implications.
