Abstract

A network connecting mobile nodes wirelessly is known as mobile ad-hoc network (MANET). In MANET the communication takes place with the help of mobile nodes. Every node in a MANET forwards data so that it can reach to its destination. It is assumed that all the nodes in the network behave properly while forwarding the data packets. Selfish nodes are those nodes who do not participate in data forwarding. The presence of such selfish nodes degrade the performance of MANET. In this paper, we survey the various mechanisms to detect selfish node in MANET.
