Abstract
Objective To explore interns' basic knowledge about pulmonary tuberculosis at the department of infectious diseases.Methods 50 medical students and 50 nurse students who had done their internship during the period of 2011 to 2012 at our department were used as study objects.The rate of basic awareness of pulmonary tuberculosis was compared between the two groups.Results Before the practice of internship,medical students were markedly better than nurse students in basic knowledge about pulmonary tuberculosis.After four weeks of practice,there was no significant difference in basic knowledge about pulmonary tuberculosis.Conclusions Health care students with different majors differ significantly in the knowledge about pulmonary tuberculosis because of different teaching goals.Intern nurses should strengthen their knowledge about pulmonary tuberculosis.
