Abstract
Knowledge acquisition deals with the modeling of expertise for expert systems. Although research in this area has concentrated on artificial intelligence systems for knowledge-intensive domains, the knowledge acquisition problem occurs frequently in general program development. Many knowledge acquisition techniques and approaches to tool support are relevant for software engineering, especially in complex domains and during early analysis stages.
