A study on the use of folktales in Korean cultural education: Focusing on Busan local folkltales

Abstract

이 연구는 외국어로서의 한국어 교육에서 문화교육을 할 때 설화를 활용하여 교육의 방안을 모색하는데 목적을 둔다. 이 연구에서는 부산 유·무형 문화자산이 내재된 스토리텔링 요소와 함께 외국어로서의 한국어 문화 교육의 관련성을 검토하여 교육 방안 및 실제를 제시하였다. 이를 위해 한국어 교육에서 설화가 가지는 교육적 가치를 밝히고 이를 바탕으로 부산 지역의 설화와 그에 대한 문화적 요소 및 수업 모형과 교육 내용의 실제를 제시하였다. 본 연구는 한국 문화 교육에서 의사소통 능력의 신장뿐만 아니라 우리 문화에 대한 외국인 유학생들의 이해와 인식의 범위를 넓히는 사고를 가질 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.The purpose of this study is to find an educational method by using folktales for cultural education in Korean language education as a foreign language. In this study, we reviewed the feasibility of Korean cultural education as a foreign language along with the storytelling elements inherent in the tangible and intangible cultural properties of Busan, and presented educational plans and practical plans. To this end, the educational value of local culture was revealed in Korean language education, and based on this, Busan folktales, cultural elements, class models, and actual educational contents were presented. Through this study, it is hoped that foreign students can broaden their understanding and awareness of our culture and improve their communication skills in Korean cultural education.
