Abstract

Women enter their work place with great career orientation and confidence. One of the best things that contribute for their confidence is adoption of spirituality in work place. There is a growing awareness of Spirituality at workplace among employers. The new perspective of Human Resource in organization is to implement Spirituality in the work place. Work place spirituality develops a climate of trust, openness, honesty, and loyalty among professionals which helps in smooth functioning of organization. Scope for transforming people through Spirituality is also a possibility. Transformational leaders inspire followers to transcend their self interest for the good of the organization and can have an extra ordinary influence on the followers. They pay attention to concerns and needs of individual followers; they change followers awareness of issues by, helping them look at old problems in a new ways. There is a need to answer the question: Is there a relationship between spirituality in work place and transformational leadership? How women hold an upper hand in this issue? This paper tries to answer this question and will relate to the transcendent purpose, meaning, and values that characterize transformational leadership and the transcendent elements of purpose, meaning, and values found at the core of spirituality at work place.
