Abstract
In this paper, a technical mineralogical study of copper ore in Yunnan is carried out. The results show that the copper grade of the original ore is low, only 0.503%. In addition, the ore also contains a certain amount of SiO2, Al2O3, MgO, and CaO, of which the content of SiO2 is the highest, reaching 0.503%, accounting for 52.68%, and the Fe2O3 content in the ore is 16.35%. Through X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), it was found that copper minerals in the ore mainly exist in the form of copper sulfide, with a content of 0.387%, followed by copper oxide with a content of 0.118%. In order to find out the inlaid and occurrence characteristics of the ore, it was observed under a scanning electron microscope (SEM) that the copper minerals in the ore were wrapped or scattered by gangue minerals, and were distributed in the gangue minerals or the gaps. After particle size classification of the mineral, it is found that the copper in the ore is mainly distributed in the particle size above +0.074mm, and the mineral hardness is very large and difficult to grind.
