Abstract
Quality award models, also known as business excellence models (BEMs), have important implications for enterprises on managing quality and providing guidance for businesses wishing to build and apply quality management systems. Self-assessment has been widely recognised around the world as a tool to guide the development of quality-related activities in enterprises. In this paper, thanks to practical research results in typical enterprises, the author discusses the pilot application of self-assessment based on the Vietnam National Quality Award (VNQA) to evaluate the performance of management activities of some VNQA winners, thereby proposing some solutions to promote self-assessment in Vietnamese enterprises in the coming time.
