Abstract

The purpose of the study was to compare the perception of the successful aging between the middle and old age people. The respondents were 312 people residing in the city. The data were analyzed by statistical methods as frequency, chi-square test, t-test, anova test, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows. First, the perception of successful aging showed age-related differences, with middle age participants attributing a higher level of importance to self-efficacy and couple life like companion than did the older participants. Second, regression analysis showed that model was significant. The variables affecting successful aging of middle age persons were education and economic status. Self-esteem and household types were significant predictors for the old age persons.
