Abstract

Purpose: This study intends to identify factors that affect the human rights attitudes of students in the college of educationand use them as basic data for developing and cultivating students human rights attitudes. Methods: This study used aself-report questionnaire for 202 four-year college of education students in J-do as a descriptive survey study. For dataanalysis, t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Scheffe s test, and multiple logical regression were performed with theStatistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 15.0. Results: In the verification of the difference in humanrights attitudes according to general characteristics, there were significant differences in the level of the home economy,the necessity of human rights of students in education colleges, and the relationship between human rights and studentsin education colleges. A result of multiple regression analysis, only human rights awareness had a significant effect onhuman rights attitudes (β=.261, p<.001). Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, It is necessary to strengthenhuman rights education and develop human rights-related subjects so that the students who need to educate studentsas future teachers can develop the right awareness of human rights and increase their human rights attitudes.
