Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the housing viewpointss of female college students, who are the main subjects of future housing choices, and to obtain data to help establish housing culture and housing policy for the younger generation. The survey results of 192 female college students living in Daegu area were as follows. First of all, the reasons for living in the current house were the ‘parent"s choice’ and ‘brothers’ school problems including me’. Secondly, the most important living space was ‘the living room’ and ‘bedroom’. Thirdly, the house was considered to be ‘a place where one can rest one’s mind and body’ and ‘a place for family harmonious and amicable relationship’. The above research results were not much different from the previous research results about 20 years ago. In other words, it was found that the difference in the views of female college students on housing is not so great due to the passage of time. However, private spaces like bedrooms are more important than public spaces like living rooms. This seems to reflect the characteristics of the Millennium Generation, which values privacy.
