Abstract

Superconductors with T c =126.7 K have been obtained by post-annealing in Tl 2O 3 vapour and at 750°C for long periods of time. The role of Tl 2O 3 vapour was investigated. It was found that it effectively prevented Tl loss and reduced the decomposition of Tl-2223 phase. A possible mechanism for the increase in T c of the Tl-2223 phase is discussed.
