Abstract

Cellobiose forms the building block of cellulose, a polymer. One of the most prevalent biomaterials in nature. The nano cellulose slurry can be added to cement at a variety of concentrations to enhance its properties without compromising the slurry's viscosity. Nanocellulose (NC) has gained a lot of attention due to its promising features as a green addition in oil well cementation. Nanomaterials, such as nanocellulose, have a well-ordered crystalline structure, which gives them advantageous thermal and physiochemical properties. Improvements of this nature are required for the development of high-performance systems for drilling with water as the primary fluid. Nanocellulose was tested as a potential solution to traditional and water-extended cement system shortcomings in oil and gas wells. The most recent studies on the application of cellulose nanoparticles in oil well cementation are summarized.
