Abstract

Electroless nickel plating has received fascination as a hard coating for industrial applications owing to high hardness, uniform thickness as well as excellent corrosion and wear resistance. The purpose of this research is to investigate the influence of Lawsone extracted from Lawsonia inermis Linn leaf extract on Ni–W–P alloy electroless deposition. SEM, XRD, AFM and EDAX are used to assess the structure, morphologies and corrosion resistance behaviour of Ni-W-P as well as electrochemical methods such as potentiodynamic polarisation curve and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The unique Ni–W–P alloy coating has exceptional mechanical qualities as well as good corrosion resistance. The addition of Lawsone improves the corrosion resistance and micro hardness of the deposits while also altering their structure and shape.
