Abstract

In order to go back to the active workforce, many unemployed IT professionals choose to upgrade their skills by accepting retraining. Being older and often far from their college education, these workers often demonstrate poor results during the employment screening tests because most of time the employment screening and interviews are evaluated by using the same procedure as the recent college graduates. The results of the tests introduced in this paper show that if memorizing part is removed these professionals can perform at the same or even better level than recent college graduates. It proves out that the hiring companies can take into consideration those retrained IT professionals.
