Abstract

Environmental pollution increases day by day and Poly-aromatic hydrocarbons forms a potent class of environmental pollutants due to their toxic and carcinogenic properties. In this work, an attempt was made to remove acenaphthene from aqueous solution using palm shell activated carbon and nano-metallic oxide. Adsorption is chosen among all the other methods because it gives better results for the treatment of acenaphthene. Among these two, Nano-metallic oxide gave the best adsorption and hence the optimization of parameters for Iron Nano metallicoxide was studied. Surface morphology of the Nano-metallic oxide was studied with the help of Scanning Electron Microscope. Optimization of parameters such as temperature, time and dosage was also done.
