A Study on Music Interest, Academic Self-Efficacy, and School Life Satisfaction in High School Students

Abstract

이 연구의 목적은 음악수업에 참여하는 고등학생의 음악흥미도와 학업에 대한 자기효능감과 학교생활 만족도에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 G.광역시에 거주하는 인문계 고등학생 350명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였으며, 기술통계 분석, 상관관계 분석, 대응표본 t-검정, 일원변량분석을 통해 결과를 도출하였다. 분석의 결과는 첫째, 음악수업에 참여하는 고등학생의 음악흥미도, 학업적 자기효능감, 학교생활 만족도는 인구사회학적 변인(성별, 학년,)에 따라 부분적으로 유의미한 차이가 확인되었다. 둘째 학교유형별 비교에서는 음악흥미도의 음악태도에서 차이가 컸으며, 학업적 자기효능감, 학교생활 만족도가 부분적으로 유의미하였다. 셋째, 고등학생의 음악흥미도와 학업적 자기효능감, 학교생활 만족도는 서로 상관관계가 있음을 확인하였다. 이 연구는 고등학교 시기의 음악활동이 학교생활과 내적 정서에 포괄적으로 영향이 있음을 시사한다.This study aimed to examine the effect of interest in music among high school students who participated in school music classes on their academic self-efficacy and satisfaction with school life. For this purpose, data were collected from 350 students enrolled in academic high schools in G Metropolitan City in South Korea. Descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, paired t-test, and one-way analysis of variance were conducted using the collected data to produce the following results. First, the level of interest in music of the students participating in music classes, academic self-efficacy, and school life satisfaction showed a partially significant difference according to their socio-demographic variables (gender, school year). Second, the level of interest in music of the students participating in music classes, academic self-efficacy, and school life satisfaction also demonstrated a partially significant difference depending on the school types. Third, high school students' interest in music revealed a mutual correlation with academic self-efficacy and school life satisfaction. The findings of this study imply that musical activities during high school years have comprehensive impact on school life and internal emotion.
