Abstract
A Chinese character name of Korean and Chinese are not only a code used to distinguish individuals, but also rich in socio-cultural information of Korea and China. In this regard, an examination of names enables you to understand differences among other cultures.BR This study compiles statistics on the frequency of Chinese characters used in the names of 104 male freshmen from a Korean university and the same number of subjects from a Chinese university. Based upon the statistics, it also summarizes a set of rules applied to the names of the two countries’ students and analyzes their characteristics.BR Studying Chinese names can help you increase interpersonal relationship with Chinese people, as well as understand characteristics of modern Chinese vocabularies and Chinese cultures.
