Abstract

Atmospheric pollution with harmful chemical compounds is the most dangerous form of environmental degradation in Russia. Features of unfavorable environmental situations and environmental problems in the Russian regions are determined by local natural conditions and the impact from industries, transport, utilities and agriculture (enterprises, their capacity, location, technologies). When cities face the urban heat island effect and environmental pollution, there is an urgent need to develop new methods for ecological-microclimatic assessment and structural-functional urban-ecological justification for territorial planning. The big data method for urban heat island determination using a cloud computing platform in combination with a fine dust dispersion calculation model based on satellite images can establish the relationship between the urban heat island and ambient air pollution. The study was conducted using the example of Moscow.
