Abstract
The Multiple Scattering (MS-Χα) method is used in order to study important charge transfer processes in hexaiodoiridate complex ions. Iridium (IV) complexes are predicted to exhibit more covalent character than iridium complexes with lower oxidation states. Experimental photoelectron and theoretical results also predict an increase in the binding energy of the Ir (4f) levels with an increase in the oxidation state of iridium.
