Abstract

The significant factors have been investigated for the wear mechanism of Ti6Al4V alloy and Ultra High Molecular Weight Poly Ethylene (UHMWPE) hybrid composite on TiN surface. The causes for the material transfer at the tribo-interface are explored in detail. The consequences of the wear phenomenon and their insignificant friction behavior on the tribopairs have been illustrated by the evidence of the morphological changes and their projections. The cell viability of the materials make certain as suitable for orthopedic implants.
