Abstract

In this paper, the fretting fatigue test of DZ125/GH4169 contact pair was carried out. Observation and analysis of the wear and fracture were needed to get the fretting damage law. A hardness parameter was introduced to modify the existing life prediction model. The specimen was exposed to both normal and fatigue loads, as indicated by the results, which resulted in the formation of a black oxide layer that stuck to the contact zone's edge. Oxide spalling formed grits and abrasive wear, accelerating the loss of fatigue resistance. At high temperatures, the oxidation was intensified. The life prediction results were all within the double error band. The error range was reduced and the life prediction effect was significantly improved.
