Abstract
It has been noted in some cases of cranio‐facial disformities that there is a relationship between facial height and the gonial angle of the mandible. This study focused on finding the relationship between these measurements in persons without any cranio‐facial disformities. Cadaveric specimens were used to determine a relationship between facial dimensions in the fixed facial bones and the gonial angle of the mandible. The distance between the anterior inferior edge of the nasal suture and the suture between the maxilla and the zygomatic bone was measured to determine the facial width. The facial height was measured from the mid‐sagittal alveolar process to the anterior inferior edge of the nasal suture. These measurements were compared to the gonial angle of the mandible to see what relationship exists.Grant Funding Source: none
