Abstract

The first, second and third order strain derivatives of high frequency and low frequency dielectric constants have been calculated using classical Claussius-Mossotti and Lorentz-Lorenz expressions and the Rydberg potential function extended up to next-nearest neighbours and including the van der Waals interactions. The results obtained are found to be in good agreement with the other theoretical and experimental results.
