Abstract

Abstract 1.1. A quantitative study of the antibody response of patients with malignant lymphomas to type-specific pneumococcus capsular polysaccharide I confirms the concept of poverty of antibody response seen in such patients. 2.2. 62 per cent of the patients in the normal control group (Group I) formed significant titers of antibody to S 1 . Patients with malignant lymphoma formed significant antibody titers in 14 per cent of the untreated group (Group II) and in 20 per cent of the treated group (Group III). 3.3. No conclusions could be drawn about the effect of nitrogen mustard on antibody formation in patients with malignant lymphoma.
