Abstract

Recent advancements and keen interest in the large scale implementation and research in renewable energy sources and HVDC grid, led to the development of system which will interface HVDC link directly to renewable energy sources. The output of wind and solar energy is DC it's better to connect it directly to the DC grid. To implement this system high power DC-DC converters are required which facilitates the transmission of electrical energy. In this paper resonant converter which can be use in grid connected renewable energy sources in develop and implemented in MATLAB Simulink environment. To create resonance LC parallel tank is used. Implemented model produces the lower voltage stress than resonant step up converters. The operating principles with all details are explained and parameter selection for resonant converter is done in this paper.
