Abstract
Close relationships appear to exist between various periodic variations of polar shift and many phenomena on the earth, including earthquakes. In this paper, we apply complex wavelet transform to the study of the polar shift. We derive and analyse the logarithmic amplitude and phase diagrams of the complex wavelet transform. The results show that there are some periodic variations both in the modulus of the polar shift and in its complex wavelet transform.
