In developed countries, knowledge has been perceived as a valuable factor of production, but unfortunately the significance of KM is still not generally highlighted in developing countries as Egypt. This exploratory qualitative study intends to shed the light on the crucial role of human resource management (HRM) for successfully embedding and promoting the KM initiative; through setting a good base for the proper selection, motivation and development of HR, adding to setting the supportive organizational culture and organizational structure. The study also highlights the opportunities of KM adding to the challenges that may delay its effective implementation.
