Abstract
The measurement of film thickness by the multiple-beam interference method requires a device for adjusting the separation between the film and a semi-reflecting mirror. This note describes a robust specimen holder for this purpose which is easy to use, is little affected by vibration, and can be adjusted to within one wavelength of light.
