Abstract
Fluxes are compared and analysed and the results are used to indicate the advantage of the new flux. The new special ceramic flux for electroslag cladding of grade FTsK-18 with the welding and metallurgical properties similar to those of foreign analogues is used in the technology of single-layer corrosion-resisting strip cladding of important equipment in nuclear power stations and is fully based on domestic welding materials, and it greatly reduces the labour content and material requirement in producing corrosion-resisting coatings so that the competing capacity of Russian equipment for nuclear power stations and petrochemical industry is greatly improved.
