Abstract

A fast-reading analogue-to-digital converter (a.d.c.) forms a vital component of high-speed data systems. The paper describes in detail an all solid-state analogue-digital converter employing successive approximation technique for use in a highspeed data system. Solid-state devices are Used as switches and a method is illustrated to compensate for the finite saturation voltage VCE(sat) of the transistor used as a switch.
