Abstract

Frequency response methods are well known in compensators design for single input-single output control systems, but its extension to multivariable case is not always straight-forward due mainly to input-output interactions. Concepts of diagonal dominance and Inverse Nyquist Array (I.N.A.) are viewed as good aids to design adecuate compensators for multivariable systems. Unfortunately, the mathematical burden associated with such techniques puts difficulties on its application. A complete software package is presented in the paper to overcome this difficulties. Based in the I.N.A. ideas this CAD procedure is intended to simplify significantly the design of multivariable central systems. Graphical and numerical results are provided so stability or other design requirements in an iteractive fashion can be improved. The relevant features of this software package are shown and several illustrative examples are also given.
