Abstract

This paper describes a small ultrasonic atomizer system that has been developed for the combustion of liquid fuels in a burner with a thermal output of 20,000Btu/h. The technique of ultrasonic atomization offers significant advantages over conventional methods since it requires no high-pressure pump and it operates well with a variety of fuels. The system can be throttled or modulated and operates well at any fuel flow rate up to the design maximum.
