Abstract

AbstractA novel three-dimensional coordination polymer, [Eu 2 (phen) 2 (BIPA) 3 ]·2H 2 O (1) (BIPA = 5-bromoisophthalate), has been synthsized by the reaction 5-bromoisophthalic acid with Eu(NO 3 ) 3 ·6H 2 O under the hydrothermal conditions and characterized by IR, elemental analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 crystallizes in the triclinic space group Pī and affords a three-dimensional (3D) six-connected α-Po network. Complex 1 showed the characteristic emission spectra of the Eu III and appeared to have good fluorescence properties.Graphical AbstractSynthesis, crystal structure and photophysical property of europium coordination polymer assembled by 5-bromoisophthalic acid (H2BIPA) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) A novel three-dimensional coordination polymer, [Eu 2 (phen) 2 (BIPA) 3 ]·2H 2 O (1) (BIPA = 5-bromoisophthalate), has been synthsized by the reaction 5-bromoisophthalic acid with Eu(NO 3 ) 3 ·6H 2 O under the hydrothermal conditions and characterized by IR, elemental analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction.
