Abstract

A single-polarization hollow core anti-resonant fiber (HC-ARF) in terahertz (THz) region is proposed. The excellent single-polarization behavior is achieved by optimizing material parameters. Meanwhile, the single polarization behavior further improved by introducing epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) material into high resistance silicon tubes. The ENZ tubes enlarge the polarization extinction ratio (PER) and improve birefringence greatly. Moreover, optimization of the configuration parameters is conducted to obtain high PER and birefringence at 1 THz. The proposed single-polarization HC-ARF has great potential applications in the field of polarization sensitive communication, sensors in THz band.
