Abstract

In this paper, we developed a simulation model of commuter railway passenger transport for Tokyo Met-ropolitan Area which can simulate the railway passenger's behavior, origin/destination station choice, railway route choice, and train operation type (e. g. express train or local train). Because the model is based on the network theory, this can express the effect of congestion in the route choice by flow-dependent link cost function. We also simulate the railway passenger's flow pattern in two plans by this model.
