Abstract

Peak to average power ratio (PAPR) is one of the key parameters for efficient power amplification in multicarrier systems. Practical implementation difficulties and the performance constraints are two major limiting factors for many of the methods suggested for PAPR reduction. It is in this context, this paper suggests a simplified approach for PAPR reduction of multicarrier CDMA systems based on efficient coding of optimal binary phase sequences. Using this method, the side information related to phase values for PAPR reduction are spread using dedicated spread code and add with other user data before transmitting through channel. The overheads required for the proposed method is very minimal and the system performance is robust against channel estimation errors.
