Abstract
Fractures and dislocations involving the distal phalanx are frequently treated with immobilization, however particular injury patterns warrant additional stabilization. We describe a technique to stabilize fractures of the distal phalanx using an 18- or 20-G hypodermic needle in the emergency department setting. The technique is cost and time efficient with minimal early complications.
