Abstract

The Common Aero Vehicle (CAV) is a hypersonic reentry weapon platform which was researched and developed by Boeing for USA FALCON program. Aiming at the reentry guidance problem of CAV under complicated path constraints and terminal conditions, a generation method of three-dimensional reentry reference trajectory is presented, and then a trajectory tracking controller is designed using linear quadratic regulator (LQR) theory. Lateral guidance is realized by using bank-reversal strategy of bank angle with the aid of the azimuth error corridor. Finally, the reentry guidance results for CAV are presented based on the above method.
