Abstract

Shen, S. and Lu, B.C.-Y., 1993. A simple perturbed equation of state from a pseudopotential function. Fluid Phase Equilibria , 84: 9-22. A pseudopotential function, which can in a simple and reasonable manner represent the molecular interactions of many kinds of fluid by varying its parameter values, is proposed. A simple perturbed equation of state was developed from the proposed potential function together with the Barker-Henderson perturbation theory and was successfully applied to the prediction of thermodynamic properties of the square-well and the hard-core Lennard-Jones fluids. The predicted results are in good agreement with computer simulation data.
