Abstract
A simple Hill-series method is shown to yield accurate energy levels and expectation values for the linear potential for any angular momentum L and confinement radius R. The numerical results are verified by comparison with those from two hypervirial perturbation methods which are specially constructed to give accurate results at L = 0 for small R values and at L > 1 for R = ∞.
