Abstract

We briefly discuss the solar composition problem, i.e. the conflict between helioseismology and standard solar models implementing the state-of-the-art photospheric abundances. We infer the composition of the Sun from helioseismic and solar neutrino data and we compare the obtained results with recent abundances determinations. We show that the opacity profile of the Sun is well constrained by the solar observational properties and we emphasize the importance of a future CNO neutrino measurement.
