Abstract
Siri Hustvedt, an American author of Norwegian descent, has always had a profound interest in the complexities of memory and imagination, which she explores in both nonfiction and fiction writing, inspired by scientific research and literary experimentation. The interview focuses on Hustvedt’s 2019 novel Memories of the Future, which bears many obvious similarities with Hustvedt’s biography. Hustvedt discusses her writing process, her playful use of auto/biographical material as well as the tenuous relationship between memory and imagination, the past and the future.
