Abstract

ABSTRACTRobust JPEG steganographic algorithms are proposed to transmit covert message against JPEG compression. The existing robust JPEG steganographic algorithms are working with the side information about JPEG compression quality factor of a lossy channel. However, massive recent experimental results reveal that the performance of the present robust JPEG steganographic algorithms is poor if the side information is unknown. Thus, this paper proposes a new robust JPEG steganographic algorithm to satisfy the requirement. First, the error diffusion of steganographic embedding encoder is analyzed. Then, a new robust JPEG steganographic algorithm is proposed based on the analysis result. A series of experiments are conducted on 10,000 images from BOSSbase 1.01 image library. The results show that the proposed method can resist JPEG compression efficiently with acceptable resistance to steganalysis statistical detection.
